An AI news agent that monitors 180+ countries and turns global events into real-time financial intelligence — on web, iOS and Android.
The problem
Gnomi wanted a news product that doesn't just aggregate headlines but explains them: an AI agent that watches global sources, answers questions in the reader's language, and — for finance users — links the news to live market data, SEC filings and earnings calls. It had to run on web and both app stores with tiered subscription plans.
What we built
- Built the web application in React and Next.js with a chat-first interface and real-time data feeds
- Integrated multiple LLM providers (Claude, GPT, Gemini) with user-level model switching and prompt controls
- Shipped Finance Mode: live market data, SEC filing summaries, earnings-call transcripts with key takeaways, watchlists and an earnings calendar
- Added voice with ElevenLabs and an AI-generated newsletter tailored to each reader's schedule and interests
- Delivered companion iOS and Android apps sharing the same backend, with Basic / Premium / Pro subscription tiers
The outcome
Gnomi launched on web, iOS and Android with a three-tier subscription model and a finance product that competes with dedicated market-data apps.
