Our story
Founded by an engineer, run like an engineering team
Taatgen Development LLC was founded in 2023 by Mike Taatgen, a senior software engineer who spent the previous decade building production software — inside large companies like Southwest Airlines, and for startups that needed a product shipped fast without cutting corners.
We're based in Irving, Texas, in the Dallas–Fort Worth metro. Most of our clients are somewhere else — across the United States and internationally — and have been for years. Remote delivery with weekly demos is how we work by default; in-person is a bonus for DFW clients.
The team is deliberately small: the engineers you meet on the first call are the ones who write the code. That's why our Upwork profile sits in the top 1% of vetted talent with a 99% job-success score, and why clients come back for the next project.

What you can expect
We work inside your process
Git, pull requests, code review, tickets, weekly demos. Whether you have an in-house team or we are the team, you always know what shipped and why.
Tested before you see it
Unit and end-to-end tests (Jest, Cypress, Playwright) run in CI on every change. We aim for 80%+ coverage on the code that matters.
Full stack, front-end first
React, Next.js and React Native on the front; Node.js, PostgreSQL and AWS behind it. Shopify for commerce. We design the UI if you don't have one.
Clear, early communication
